Alberson attends Lucas Oil MLRA tripleheader in Missouri and Iowa

Making his debut aboard the Jeremiah Hurst Racing/Roberts Motorsports No. 59 Late Model, Garrett Alberson traveled to Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Mo.) on Friday evening to kick off the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Association (MLRA) tripleheader. In a stout field of 36 cars, Alberson fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish, transferring him into the B-Main. Coming in second behind Trevor Gundaker, Garrett locked into the 20th-starting position for the opening night feature. Passing five cars in the 40-lap affair, Alberson posted a 15th place finish.

The following night at Maquoketa Speedway (Maquoketa, Iowa), Garrett timed in eighth fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Alberson slipped back to a 17th place outing. (Todd Healy photo)

On Sunday afternoon at West Liberty Raceway (West Liberty, Iowa), Alberson followed up a fifth place finish in his heat with a runner-up spot in his B-Main behind Will Vaught. Earning the 20th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win finale, Garrett jumped up four spots in the 30-lapper to place 16th.

With the first weekend in the books, Garrett is currently in 14th in the Lucas Oil MLRA point standings.
