Top-5 finish in Hoker 50 at Davenport Speedway

Tuesday night found Roberts Motorsports pilot Garrett Alberson in action at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) to do battle with the MARS Racing Series for the Hoker 50. In a field of 22 cars, Garrett recorded a fourth-place finish in his heat, which positioned him 11th on the starting grid for the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Alberson passed six cars in the 50-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. He followed Hudson O’Neal, Brandon Overton, Bobby Pierce, and Brian Shirley across the line.

On Friday, Alberson and crew headed to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) to compete in a stout field of 74 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries for the 31st annual Prairie Dirt Classic weekend. With the massive field split into two groups for time trials, Garrett’s 30th fastest qualifying effort locked him into the 15th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win preliminary feature. Needing to place fourth or better to make the finale on Saturday, Alberson logged an 11th-place outing. (Josh James Artwork)

Transferring into a B-Main on Saturday, Garrett advanced through the field seven spots in the 20-lapper to grab the second-and-final transfer spot. Starting the $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic in 21st, Alberson suffered a mechanical issue in the final 30 circuits while running in 15th that ended his night immediately.
