Fourth-place finish in Lucas Oil MLRA stop at Maquoketa Speedway

On Thursday afternoon Garrett Alberson was one of 17 Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) entries on hand at Maquoketa Speedway (Maquoketa, Iowa) for the weekend opener. With a fourth-place finish in his heat race positioning him eighth on the starting grid for the opening night feature, Garrett gained four spots in the 40-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Tony Jackson Jr., Chris Simpson, and Jeremiah Hurst to the checkers with Chad Simpson coming in fifth. (Mike Ruefer photo)

The following night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) for the River City Rumble, Alberson secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a 10-lap heat race victory. Fading outside the Top-10, Garrett dropped eight spots to finish 12th.

To wrap up the weekend on Saturday at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.), Garrett came in second in his heat race behind Blair Nothdurft, which pinned him fourth on the starting grid for the finale. With $4,000 on the line, Alberson held his spot for all 40 laps to place fourth. He followed Chris Simpson, Jordan Yaggy, and Earl Pearson JR. across the line with Chad Mahder coming in fifth.

Garrett remains in second in the latest Lucas Oil MLRA point standings.
