Alberson debuts in Longhorn Chassis at Eldora Speedway

Making his debut in a Longhorn Chassis Late Model, Garrett Alberson unloaded his Roberts Motorsports No. 58 entry at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday night as the 29th annual Dirt Late Model Dream kicked off with a pair of prelims.

With the 95-car field split into two groups, Alberson faded in his heat race but rebounded in his B-Main with an eighth-to-fourth showing. He failed to transfer by two cars but ended the evening on a high note in his first laps in his new car.

For another round of prelims on Friday, Garrett raced his way into his preliminary feature with a third-place finish in his heat. Starting the $12,000-to-win A-Main in 11th, Alberson was collected in a multi-car tangle that ended his night early.

With preliminary points pinning him on the fifth row of his heat race on Saturday, Alberson revived his chances of making the $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream with a ninth-to-fourth charge. Needing to place second or better in his B-Main to make the main event, Garrett was forced to pull off early with an overheated engine, ending his bid for the finale.
