Garrett Alberson charges to eighth-place finish in Prairie Dirt Classic

Before getting to the highly-anticipated Prairie Dirt Classic, Garrett Alberson made a pitstop at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway on Monday afternoon for the Davenport Deal doubleheader with the XR Super Series.

Charging to the victory in his B-Main, Alberson started 17th in the $15,000-to-win feature and finished 13th.

Tuesday's event at the facility was rained out.

Turning his attention to the famed Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Wednesday afternoon, the Ken Roberts-owned team was among a massive 65-car field checked in for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America's "One for the Road" event.

Once again taking the checkered flag in his B-Main, Alberson was swept up in an early-race incident which ultimately ended his night early.

Ready to tackle the Prairie Dirt Classic, Alberson kicked things off by going 16th-fastest in his qualifying group before placing eighth in the second showdown feature.

Finishing third in his last chance showdown on Saturday, Alberson did not make the A-Main but started the Prairie Dirt Shootout where he would dominate the $3,000-to-win event and take the checkered flag. Not satisfied with the outcome, Garrett decided to tag the tail of the field in the 100-lap main event and preserved to finish inside the Top-10 in eighth.
